Arena tipped to succeed Gullit at LA Galaxy
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Former United States coach Bruce
Arena is expected to be named Ruud Gullit's successor at the
struggling Los Angeles Galaxy on Monday. The Galaxy have
scheduled a news conference for 1100 local time (2:00 p.m. EDT)
when the new coach will be introduced following Gullit's
resignation last week.

| Galaxy coach Gullit resigns, president Lalas heads out
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Los Angeles Galaxy head coach Ruud
Gullit has resigned for personal reasons, while Alexi Lalas has
lost his job as president and general manager, the club said on
its website (www.la.galaxy.mlsnet.com) on Monday. The Galaxy,
led by England midfielder David Beckham, are in the midst of a
seven-game winless streak and are fourth in Major League
Soccer's Western Conference.
