Devils close the gap with 3-1 victory over Penguins
NEWARK, New Jersey (Reuters) - The New Jersey Devils beat Pittsburgh 3-1 on Friday to move within two points of the Atlantic Division leading Penguins in the standings. Third period goals by Ilya Kovalchuk and Andy Greene, his first score in 36 games, helped the Devils move within touching distance of the Penguins in the standings.

| Rafalski goal gives Red Wings victory over Sabres
DETROIT (Reuters) - Brian Rafalski scored a powerplay goal in overtime to give the Detroit Red Wings a 3-2 victory over the Northeast Division leading Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. Rafalski's slap shot 31 seconds into overtime came after Sabres' rookie Tyler Myers received a penalty for delaying the game with just over a minute remaining in the third period.
